Abstract

No doubt remains of the existence of a support of human prolactin molecule. The evidence in support of this concept has recently been reviewed. Immunologic tools and, in particular, radioimmunoassay have played on extremely important role in the identification and isolation of human prolactin. Prior to 1971, there was much uncertainly about the existence of a separate human prolactin molecula because whenevere attemps were made to purify human prolactin from human pituitary gland invariable human growth hormone was isolated.
Prolactin levels in primipara sera before delivery, puerperium and an umbical cord were measured by radioimmunoassay, respectively. The results were as follows:
1. Serum prolactin level was 399.3¡¾129 Ong/ml before delivery of primipara.
2. Serum prolactin level was 202.7¡¾104.2ng/ml after 3rd day of puerperium.
3. Mixed sera prolactin level of umbilical cord was 282.2¡¾115.6ng/ml.
